Anne's Cordial

Eva Kendrick sings, plays keyboard and writes original music for Anne's Cordial. She began as a strictly classical singer until she worked in a CD store in college and discovered the Cocteau Twins, jazz and other vocalists like Loreena McKennitt and Tori Amos who didn't have traditional rock voices. Eva then branched out into songwriting because she wanted to explore everything her voice could do. To this day she writes in many styles including classical, folk, jazz, blues, rock, bluegrass, pop and experimental.

Eva has lived in MA, RI, San Francisco and Los Angeles, where she has put on productions of her own chamber operas, musical theatre, and song cycles. She has written music for film and received commissions for choruses, vocalists, flutists, mandolin orchestra and chamber orchestra. She has worked with many poets including Kathleen Spivack, Laurie Robertson-Lorant, Paul Turner and Naomi Shihab Nye. Awards include a Subito grant from the American Composers Forum, ASCAPLU$ Awards and National Singers Association of Teaching Voice Awards.

Eva had been friends with Natalie since college and Reed since she moved back to the East Coast to go to grad school at the Longy School of Music. The three teamed up after Natalie mentioned that she was looking for someone to play with. Trained as a high soprano, Eva teaches music theory and voice at the Community Music Center of Boston and is the Music Director at First Parish Medfield.
